Elections for Congress, Senate, and state offices may grab big headlines, but the biggest impact can be made right at home in our local governments.
Single party Republican control of county government has negatively impacted our quality of life, and we’re gearing up to flip our county legislature in 2025.

Town Supervisor: The Town Supervisor is the highest elected official in a town government in New York State. They are responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the town government, including departments such as public works, parks and recreation, and public safety. The Town Supervisor also acts as the town's chief executive, setting policies and making decisions on behalf of the town.

Town Council Members are elected representatives of the town who serve on a board with the supervisor. They are responsible for making decisions on behalf of the town, including enacting local laws and setting policies. They also approve the town's budget and are involved in the process of appointing town officials.

The Town Justice is responsible for overseeing the administration of justice within the town. They hear cases involving local laws, including traffic violations and other misdemeanors. The Town Justice is also responsible for conducting preliminary hearings in criminal cases, and they may issue search and arrest warrants.

The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting taxes from the residents of the town. They must maintain accurate records of the taxes paid and ensure that all taxes are collected in a timely manner. The Tax Collector also assists residents with any questions or concerns they have regarding their taxes.

The Highway Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the town's roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. They must ensure that the roads are safe and in good condition for the residents and visitors of the town. The Highway Superintendent also manages the town's snow removal and road maintenance operations.

The Town Clerk is responsible for maintaining official records of the town, including minutes of town meetings, birth, death, and marriage certificates, and property records. The Town Clerk also serves as a clerk to the town board and provides support to the Town Supervisor and Town Council Members.
